Pricing questions
What counts as a "word"?
Words are counted in the AI's output, not in your input prompt or client-record text you referenced. A typical SOAP note runs 120–200 words; a detailed DAP note 180–300; a full intake assessment 600–1,000. 2,000 words/month on the free tier works out to about 10–15 session notes.
Is Mental Note AI HIPAA-compliant?
Yes. Our infrastructure is HIPAA-compliant with end-to-end encryption and zero document retention after generation. We never train models on customer content. A signed BAA is available on all paid plans.
What if my practice grows beyond the free tier?
Upgrade to Professional ($99/month) for unlimited words and a signed BAA. Cancel anytime; your account stays active through the end of the billing period. For 3+ clinicians, our Group plan is priced per-seat with admin controls.
Does it work with my EHR?
Mental Note AI runs entirely inside Microsoft Word — no EHR integration required. Draft your note in Word, then copy-paste into your EHR (SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, TheraNest, etc.). Direct EHR integrations are planned for the Group plan.
Can I use it for audits and licensing boards?
Yes. Output is formatted to meet Medicare, Medicaid, CARF, and state licensing board requirements. You remain the clinical author of record — the AI drafts; you review, edit, and sign. Always verify output against your current state board and payer requirements.
